The boy Pride flag is meant to represent it’s subgroup of the leather culture. The flag was first presented at the 1998 MAL after creator, Keith Pollanen was inspired after a conversation he has with Tony DeBlase (creator of the Leather Pride Flag.) The stripes are arranged diagonally to symbolize the relation of Sir (top left corner) and boy (bottom right corner). The heart is strategically place in the top right corner symbolizing the boy and his position at the right side of his Sir. Because boys were traditionally denoted as someone who was new to the lifestyle the color green was chosen to represent the boy as a newbie or Greenhorn. The flag’s design reflects the original use of word boy or boi.
