When you need just a little more room, not a lot, or you need an extra strap to add a ring or hook then you need a gypsy strap. When the strap is opened its 6″ long but once closed its only 2″. Both ends snap into the center stainless steel snap. You can spot gypsy straps on the victor harness connecting the top hook to the bottom ring.
